Travel back in time with Moritz Hotel, based in Miami, Florida. An upscale hotel with an Art Deco theme that has great service, elegant rooms, and an art-driven experience. Moritz Hotel targets upper middle class guests, ages 40-60 with a taste for a unique place that links the past’s eccentric and colorful characters to present times.
To reinforce its unique call to the past, I created a custom typeface, Gatz Moderne. The uni-case typeface, used throughout the hotel’s branding, has a vintage yet quirky feel. The calla lily, seen in many works of art in the Art Deco era, was chosen for the logo mark to exhibit a high end, elegant feel. The hotel’s gold accents bolster its high end qualities and bring a nice complement to the teal and burgundy. Toiletries blend the rich color palette and custom typography with amber bottles and special finishes for a luxurious and memorable quality.
